Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance, and prominence. Relevance is how well your Business Profile matches the search. Distance is how far you are from the searcher. Prominence is how well known you are, which includes links to your site and your review count and ratings. Google recommends verifying your Business Profile, keeping your information complete and accurate, replying to reviews, and adding photos. It also says there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. For more, see our guide to SEO for Roofers: A Clear Guide to Local Customers.
